One More Step for Twitter — the iPad App
By Jennifer Valentino-DeVries
A few months ago, Twitter CEO Evan Williams said the young company was becoming “more organized and capable” — able to develop tools that had previously been handled by third-party software. Case in point: On Wednesday, it debuted an official Twitter app for the iPad.
The free app looks pretty slick, with an intuitive interface that shows both the timeline of tweets and the content in the links, whether its a photo, webpage or whatever. These are divided into panes that you can slide back and forth to expose or hide. And you can use finger gestures to see more about the Twitter user, reply to the tweet and so forth.
