With 3.3 million iPads sold in their first quarter on the market, backed up with 200,000 apps for ipads, this new revolution in computer technology is firmly entrenching itself for the long run. Apple's chief executive, Steve Jobs, hailed the iPad as "revolutionary" when he unveiled the device in January, saying it would carve out a place between smart phones and laptop computers. The Wall Street Journal followed up saying it could "change portable computing profoundly" and "challenge the primacy of the laptop." Sales and reviews since then have proven all that and more to the point that Stephen Fry, an Apple enthusiast, reviewing it for "Time" magazine, concludes that "for me, my iPad is like a gun lobbyist's rifle; the only way you will take it from me is to prise it from my cold, dead hands"
Adding iPad apps makes your iPad experience all the richer. With the ability to unleash the power of the Internet, right into your hands! Netflix enables you watch any of their streaming videos right on your iPad, and with the release of the 3G models, you can literally watch them anywhere. Flipboard, released just a couple short weeks ago, gathers your favorite social media, news, photos and an ever-expanding list of specialized content and turns them into a sharp, graphic interactive online magazine. Productivity apps are fast making content accumulation, article writing and note taking as pointing your finger.
