Facebook Working on an iPad App?

Facebook Working on an iPad App?

TechCrunch is reporting that we may all have an honest to goodness Facebook iPad appthat understands and gives iPad users what they actually need in their FB experience!?  Let's hope it arrives sooner rather than later!

We need to make a tablet version of Facebook. It’s something we’re working on right now.”

That was Facebook CTO Bret Taylor speaking to me yesterday in a sit down following his one-on-one interview on stage at the Inside Social Apps conference in San Francisco.

Now, before you get all excited, note that Taylor is not specifically saying that the social giant will make a native iPad app. Instead, he’s saying that there’s needs to be a better version of the service for tablets in general. Having said that, he didn’t exactly rule out a native iPad app either in our chat.

Doctors Credit iPad as Tool to Rep. Giffords' Recovery

Perhaps you have read of Rep. Gabrielle (Gabby) Giffords miraculous recovery…

but did you know that Dr. Michael Lemole, chief of neurology at UMC reports that her use of the iPad “ show higher cognitive function?"

Rep. Giffords’ Road to Recovery — iPad as Therapeutic Tool

The amazing recovery of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords from a devastating gunshot wound to the head is a welcome bright spot in the aftermath of the tragic incident in Tucson.  Doctors have reported that Rep. Giffords is “beginning to stand with assistance, she is scrolling through an iPad”. While Giffords’ recovery is astounding given the severity of her injury, the role of the iPad in her therapy is not surprising.  Apple’s tablet, and the iPad apps that accompany it,  play a role in the treatment of patients with a variety of illnesses and injuries, with very good results.

What NOT to Buy at Apple Stores

Things NOT to Buy at the Apple Store:

Wandering through an Apple Store can be a hypnotic experience for window-shoppers and tech-fetishists alike…

The very same thing can be said of the Apple App Store… which iPad apps are really good and which are NOT???  What should you buy and which are honestly a waste of money???

THAT is exactly why we started and keep adding to Apps for iPads.

At Apps for iPads we do not copy, paste and regurgitate.  We actually BUY each and every (and on the rate occasion a developer gives us an app we are SURE to let you know right upfront) iPad app… we tear it apart, we decide, for ourselves, if we think it was worth what we paid for it, and tell you that in upfront, in your face, language.  So if we really like an iPad app you’ll know about it… and if we thought it was NOT worth our money we’ll tell you that too.  On Apps for iPads you can be assured of the truth, because, quite frankly, no one is paying us to say anything.

So what iPad apps are YOU looking to buy but don’t know which to invest your money into?  Be sure to stop by Apps for iPads and let us know!  You can do that by Contacting US anytime… you can do that by leaving a comment on any one of our posts, and we also invite you to stop by out Twitter and Facebook sites anytime to tweet us or leave a message… because Apps for iPads is for YOU, and we want to know what you want, and what you need!

The Mac App Store Won’t Let You Waste Your Money

We Beg to Differ!

While what Cult of Mac reports and App Advice reiterates is true, The Mac App Store, along with the Apple App Store will not let you repurchase Mac or iPad apps that you already own, I beg to differ that either App Store won’t let you waste your money.  If you buy an app and it does not live up to its billing or you simply do not like it, it’s still yours… no refunds are ever given.

Enter Apps for iPads; that’s why we exist!  We do not cut, paste and regurgitate the copy printed in the App Store.  We buy each app (on rare occasions developers have offered apps to us for review and giveaways but those are always noted in our copy) and thoroughly test them out before publishing our articles, most with video reviews included.  We allow you to SEE how an iPad app performs, or doesn’t BEFORE you buy it.  We are always cognizant of what our readers are looking for so be sure to stop by Apps for iPads and post a comment on those you like and especially would like to see more of!

Apps for iPads REALLY doesn’t want you to waste your money!  THAT’S exactly why we are HERE!  Please leave us a comment or give us a “thumbs up” if you would like to see MORE!

Wondering what to do if you already own Apple’s creativity or work software suites; iLife and iWork now that they’re on the Mac App Store? The answer is simple: nothing.

As you’ll discover if you already own them (or they were pre-installed on your Mac) and try to purchase them, the Mac App Store will prevent you from doing so. That is, the Mac App Store app is actually capable of detecting (under certain conditions) what applications you already have on your Mac. This applies to both Apple and third party applications.
